APC CONGRATULATES NEW ZAMFARA NUJ EXECUTIVES
The Zamfara chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has congratulated the newly elected executives of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in the state.
This is contained in a statement in Gusau on Saturday by the State APC Publicity Secretary, Malam Yusuf Idris.
The new leaders were elected on Saturday at the NUJ 2022 Triennial Delegates Conference in the state under the supervision of the

National Trustee of the Union, Mr Garba Muhammad and Assistant National Secretary of the union, Mr Okoraje Opeyemi.
The newly elected executives were Ibrahim Maizare from Legacy Newspapers Chapel who scored 68 votes to emerged as Chairman of the State Council of the Union defeating his opponent, Nasiru Shehu Aula from Zamfara Radio Chapel who scored 31 votes.

Mr Haliru Umar from the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) Chapel and Ibrahim Ahmad of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) from the Correspondent’s Chapel emerged as the Vice Chairman and State Secretary of the Union unopposed respectively.
Mr Jamilu Tsafe also from the Legacy Newspapers Chapel who scored 68 votes to emerged as state Treasurer of the Union defeating his opponent, Mr Yakubu Kaura from Information Chapel who scored 31 votes.
Other state executives members of the union emerged unopposed.
Idris said that the state APC leadership under Alhaji Tukur Danfulani congratulated all working Journalists in the state for electing new executives.
“The emergence of new executives
would open a new page for practicing journalism profession in the state”, he added.
Idris commended members of the union for conducting credible poll during the congress.
