Borno Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has taken further steps to support the volunteers involved in the fight against insurgents in the state. During a visit to Bama, the governor distributed a total of N18 million in cash and bags of food to 810 members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), Hunter’s, vigilantes, and kesh-kesh team.

Addressing the volunteers, Governor Zulum acknowledged their significant contributions in assisting the military forces in combating the insurgency. He conveyed his appreciation for their sacrifices and recognized the risks they undertake in safeguarding the local communities.

As part of the government’s intervention, each of the 810 volunteers received a 25kg bag of rice and maize, which is expected to provide much-needed sustenance for themselves and their families.
