The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has confirmed the arrest of popular crossdresser, Idris Okuneye, known as Bobrisky, following reports circulating online.

According to the spokesperson of EFCC, Bobrisky was apprehended at Pinnock Estate in Lagos State on April 3, 2024, at 3 pm, for alleged currency mutilation and abuse of the Naira.

The spokesperson, Dele Oyewale, disclosed that Bobrisky is currently in custody at their facility in Lagos and will face charges in court soon.

This development comes amid recent discussions regarding the legality of cross-dressing in Nigeria, with a police spokesperson highlighting the complex legal landscape surrounding the issue.

In March 2024, Bobrisky had defended his lifestyle choices in response to criticism, emphasizing individual freedom of choice and urging others to mind their own business.
