Christmas And New Year: Gov Buni Assures Hitch Free Celebration In Yobe

Yobe State Governor, Hon Mai Mala Buni has assured residents of adequate security measures in ensuring a peaceful and hitch free Christmas and New year celebrations.

The governor gave the assurance during security council meeting with the heads of various security agencies held on Thursday at government House Damaturu, the state capital.

Represented by his Deputy, Hon Idi Barde Gubana who said as the year 2024 is coming to an end, the state Governor mandated him to preside over the security council meeting to review and analyse security situations in the state so as to enable the Christians enjoy the yuletide festivities.

Speaking after the deliberation, the state Commissioner of Police, Yobe Command, Ahmad Garba said security agencies in the state are committed to safeguarding lives and properties of the citizens during and after the festivities.

CP Garba urged parents and guardians to ensure their wards desist from involving themselves into criminal activities and social vices during the celebration as the law enforcement agencies has zero tolerance to such behaviours.

The meeting was attended by the Secretary to the State Government, Baba Mallam Wali, Special Adviser on Security Matters, Brigadier Gen Dahiru Abdulsalam ( Rtd). Commissioner of Police, Bridge Commander 27 taskforce Brigade, Director DSS Yobe Command, Commandant Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps as well as Comptroller Nigeria Immigration Service.

Other includes Commandant, NDLEA and Sector commander FRSC and Director Cabinet and Security amongst others.
