Daura Take Over As 23rd AIG Of Zone 10, Sokoto.

The Zone 10 Police Headquarters comprising Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara States have gotten a new Assistant Inspector General of Police. 

The new AIG, Lawal Abubakar Daura takes over from AIG Bello Sani Dalijan who retired from the Nigeria Police Force after his meritorious service to our fatherland.

Daura as the 23rd AIG of Zone 10 was born on the 20th of August 1965, at Daura local government Area of Katsina State. He is a graduate of the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria, where he obtains a bachelor’s Degree in sociology.

In his quest for service to humanity, the young Daura got enlisted into the Nigeria Police force as a cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (C/ASP) on 3rd March 1990 and train at the famous Police Academy Annex Kaduna.

In line of duty, AIG Daura has held different positions in the respective  State Commands, Zonal Commands Formation and the Force Headquarters, Abuja where he has served.

Notable amongst the positions AIG Daura held  include, Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO), Yobe State Command, Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Borno and Kano State Commands, Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of port CID, Apapa Lagos and Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of South-West Border Patrol, Badgry, Lagos.

Others are, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Administration, Police Cooperative Society, Lagos, Deputy commissioner of Police in charge of Operation, Zone 2 Zonal Command Lagos, Deputy commissioner of Police in charge of Administration Zone7. Zonal Command, Deputy commissioner of Police in charge of operations, Oyo State Command, Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command,.

He was also Commissioner of Police, Finance and administration, FCID Annex Lagos and Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State before his elevation to the enviable position of the Assistant Inspector General of Police AIG and posted to Zone 10 Police Headquarters Sokoto.

A statement by Zonal Police Public Relations Officer of Zone 10, (ZPPRO) ASP Uthman Yaqub Muhammad added that the the new AIG also attended many Professional and leadership Courses, Seminars and Workshops within and outside the shores of Nigeria. 

Few amongst them include, 

 Combat Operation Course, at Police Mobile Force (PMF) Training College, Gwoza Camp, Gwoza, Borno State,

Junior Command, Intermediate as well as Tactical Leadership Command Course at Police Staff College, Jos.

AIG Daura who is happily married with children is also a graduate and fellow of Nigeria Defence College, Abuja, having successfully been conferred with the fellowship award of Fellow Defence College (fdc).
