EX-ZAMFARA GOVERNORS TASK STATE APC LEADERSHIP ON UNITY
Two former governors of Zamfara, Sen. Ahmad-Sani Yarima and Alhaji Mahmud Aliyu Shinkafi, have tasked the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state on working toward promoting unity, peace and stability in the party.
This is contained in a statement issued in Gusau by the State APC Publicity Secretary, Yusuf Idris Gusau.
Idris Gusau said the two governors also commended the party leadership in the state under Tukur Danfulani for carrying along all stakeholders of the party in the state.
He said, “The former governors made the commendation when the state party executive led by Alhaji Tukur Danfulani visited them in their respective residences for further consultations towards promoting the party’s development.
“The consultation visit followed the recent inauguration of Tukur Umar Danfulani as a member of the National Executives Council (NEC) of the party.
“During the visit, Zamfara’s first civilian governor, Yarima endosred Governor Bello Matawalle’s second term bid.
“Yarima also declared that there will be no vacancy at the Government House, Gusau ahead of the 2023 governorship election of the state.
“Yarima noted that Governor Matawalle will continue to enjoy the position for the second time which will kick off in the coming elections.”
The statement added that Yarima also urged the leadership of the party to continue to work towards the success of the APC throughout the state in future elections.

This, he said, was especially as the nation prepared for the 2023 general elections.
Also speaking, former governor Mahmud Aliyu Shinkafi was quoted to have expressed confidence in the state’s APC leadership led by Tukur Danfulani.
Shinkafi attributed the recent successes recorded by the party in the state to the consultation of stakeholders by the new leadership towards uniting members of the party.
According to him, the current party executive in the state was made up of capable and energetic persons drawn from either the public or private sectors.
He described them as men and women with proven records of integrity who were full of ideas on how to make the party grow stronger.The former governor urged the chairman to continue to build on the unity so far achieved through constant consultations.
This, he said, would would further ensure that the party remained focused and be sure of winning all forthcoming coming elections in the state.
Other stakeholders visited by the party executive included, former House of Reps member, Aminu Sani Jaji, Chief of Staff to the Speaker House of Reps, Sanusi Rikiji and former ambassador Chika Bunu.
The statement further said that the state APC chairman explained that the purpose of the visit to the APC chieftains was to convey the appreciation of the party for the support by all stakeholders.
These included prominent sons and daughters of the state who, according to him, had continued to place the party in high esteem in the state and beyond.
Danfulani promised to always consult for the betterment of the party.
He urged the party’s chieftains to maintain the synergy existing between the executive and other stakeholders.
