FEDERAL LAWMAKER DISBURSES N37m TO CONSTITUENTS IN ZAMFARA

 The Zamfara state, has disbursed N37 million to 1500 youths and women trained in tailoring and fashion design under his constituency empowerment project.


The beneficiaries drawn from Gusau and Tsafe Local Government Areas were trained in partnership with the National Office for Technology Acquisition and Promotion (NOTAP).


Speaking at the closing ceremony of the five-day training in Gusau on Friday, Maipalace said a total of 1500 participants were trained in tailoring and fashion design.

Maipalace, represented by his Senior Legislative Aide, Alhaji Nazir Rufa’i, said the empowerment was aimed at encouraging unemployed youths and women in the constituency to participate in various businesses to reduce poverty and unemployment.


“This is to complement the Gov. Bello Matawalle-led administration in its policy of promoting employment opportunities among unemployed youths and women in the state.


“Each of the participants was given N25,000 as startup capital for the business,” he said.
The Emir of Gusau, Alhaji Ibrahim Bello commended the lawmaker for the gesture.


The monarch, represented by the Senior District Head of Gusau Emirate, Alhaji Bashir Danbaba said the training would address employment challenges and over dependency on government by the teeming youths in the state.


He called on other politicians to emulate the lawmaker in initiating various programmes that would guarantee good future for the youths as leaders of tomorrow.


In his remarks, the Secretary to the lawmaker, Mustafa Hassan, said the training was conducted in five batches.
“In each of the five days, we trained 300 beneficiaries comprising youths and women,” Hassan said.


According to him, the lawmaker had recently trained and empowered 600 youths from the constituency in agric businesses and investment opportunities.


Aisha Umar and Abubakar Isah from Gusau and Tsafe LGAs, on behalf of the beneficiaries, commended the lawmaker for helping them to be self-reliant.
