FEDERAL LAWMAKER DONATES FOOD ITEMS, RELIEF MATERIALS TO IDPs IN ZAMFARA

A Member House of Reps, Gusau/Tsafe, Federal Constituency, Alhaji Kabiru Maipalace (APC, Zamfara) has donated food items and relief materials to Internally Displaced Persons IDPs in Tsafe, town, Tsafe local governments area of the state.

Thousands of IDPs mainly women and children were displaced from their communities to Tsafe town as a result of banditry activities in the area.

Presenting the items to Tsafe Emirate Council at temporary IDPs camp in Tsafe town on Saturday, the lawmaker said the gesture was aim to cusion the hardship condition of the IDPs.

Maipalace represented by his Senior Legislative Aide, Alhaji Naziru Ibrahim Rufa’i said the items comprised 20 bags of Rice, 50 cartoons of Indomie, 50 cartoons of Spaghetti, and 50 cartoons of Macaroni.

Ibrahim said other items comprised, 4 bags of Garri, 100 pieces of suger, 100 sets of mats, 100 catle, and 100 sets of brooms.

He said other items include, soap, buckets, rubber drums and buckets among others.

Earlier, the Secretary to the lawmaker, Malam Mustafa Hassan Musa said the gesture is to complement the state and federal government efforts to assist the IDPs in the state.

Hassan Musa called on the people of the state to continue with prayers and seek for Allah’s intervention to end security challenges facing the state.

In his remark, the Emir of Tsafe, Alhaji Muhammad Bawa commended the lawmaker for the gesture and consider it as a timely.

Bawa appealed to them to be patient and consider their condition as a test from Allah.

“We should be patient Inshallah this challenges will overcome”, the monarch said.

The Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Alhaji Musa Bawa Musa also applauded the foresight of the lawmaker for considering the IDPs.

He expressed the optimism that, the current measures placed by the state and federal governments will help in addressing banditry activities in the state.

“On behalf of the people of Tsafe LGA, we are happy with this gesture, we pray to Allah to reward the lawmaker, Kabiru Amadu Maipalace”, Bawa Musa said.

The event was attended by the Commissioner, State Ministry for Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajiya Fa’ika Ahmad and other officials from the ministry.
