FG TRAINS  ZAMFARA YOUTHS ON SMART PHONE REPAIRS

The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development has trained 168 unemployed youths in Zamfara state on smart phone repairs.


Speaking at the graduation ceremony in Gusau, the Humanitarian  Minister, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouq said the training was among the federal government’s initiatives to provide employment for Nigerians.


The 168 participants were training under the National Social Investment Programme of the federal Ministry for Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development.


“You, know Zamfara has over 4 million people out of which over 40 percent are youth, you should use what you have acquired to be self-employed”, Minister said.


The minister  who was represented by the Deputy Director Finance and Account in the Ministry, Alhaji Sambo Dangaladima, urged the participants to utilize the knowledge acquired  during the training.

She said all the participants have been approved to be enrolled in to payroll of N-Power beneficiaries.
“Each and every month, every graduate will receive N10,000 monthly to enable them to stay for their businesses”, She added.


In his remarks, the Project Manager of the training and Head of ICT of the Ministry, Mr Shafi’u Abubakar, said the 168 participants comprised males, females and disabled persons.


Abubakar said the programme which was conducted in  36  states was in line with the federal government’s initiatives of lifting 100 million Nigerians out of poverty.


He commended the Minister and other stakeholders who have been supportive to federal government’s programmes to eradicate unemployment, poverty and other social challenges in the country.


According to him, every beneficiary is supported with starter pack of handsets repair apparatus to startup businesses.


Nura Abdullahi , a beneficiary,  who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries commended  the minister  and President Muhammad Buhari for their concern and introduction of  various initiatives for youths development.


“I want to assure the government that we are going to utilize the opportunities given to us to build our future “, Abdullahi said.
