Fintiri to NYSC: You are automatic bonafide indigenes of Adamawa

Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa has declared corps members posted to the state as automatic bonafide indigenes of the state.

Fintiri announced this while declaring the 2023 Batch ‘B’ Stream 1 orientation course for corps members deployed to the state opened at Damare Orientation Camp, Girei Local Government Area, on Friday.

He assured them that Adamawa is a home away from home.

“This is a privileged status conferred on you by me as the number one citizen and Executive Governor of the State,” he declared.

Fintiri assured that the corps members have nothing to fear as far as security is concerned in the state.

“My dear children, be informed that we have a special security arrangement for the protection of lives and properties of corps members wherever they are serving in Adamawa State.

“Therefore, may I, as the Chief Security Officer of the state, assure you that you will only be posted to where we are sure of your safety,” he said.

Fintiri also appreciated the scheme for recognising him as the most NYSC friendly governor and Adamawa as the most NYSC friendly state.

He urged them to be serious and actively participate in all the camp programmes and activities, particularly morning meditations, lectures, Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development  (SAED) programme.

“I will like to remind you that white-collar jobs are not readily available.

“Therefore, I encourage you to avail yourselves of the opportunities for self-employment offered through the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) Programme,” he advised.

Mr Jingi Denis, the state NYSC Coordinator, commended Fintiri for his support to the scheme and overall development of the state.

However, he appealed to the governor to expedite work on the approved concrete fencing of the orientation camp.

Denis also charged corps members to respect their uniforms and warned them against improper dressing.

The Voice Media Trust (VMT NEWS) reports that the corps members were administered Oath of Allegiance by the state Chief Judge, Justice Hapsat Abdulrahman.

She was represented by Justice Ishaku Halliru at the event.
