Gombe Deputy Governor Mourns  ASP Kashere, Maitabarma

The Deputy Governor of Gombe State, Dr. Manassah Daniel Jatau, has expressed his condolences to Mr. Jack A. Tasha, his Media Aide, following the recent death of Mr. Tasha’s nephew, Assistant Superintendent of Police John Japhet Kashere.

ASP Kashere, who was serving at the Police Training Camp in Osun State Command, passed away at the age of 54 after a brief illness.

In a heartfelt message delivered by a delegation led by the Director of Administration and Finance, Mr. Ali Hamma Ishaku, at the family’s residence in Billiri, Deputy Governor Jatau urged the family to accept the loss as part of God’s divine plan. He emphasized the importance of readiness for eternity, advocating for forgiveness and love among people as reminders of life’s transient nature.

Mr. Jonathan Dabo Kashere, speaking on behalf of the family, expressed gratitude to the Deputy Governor and acknowledged the government’s concern during their time of grief. Reverend Shem Bahaushe Maidula of ECWA Church Kalkulum, Billiri, also thanked the Deputy Governor for the support shown to the bereaved family.

ASP John Japhet Kashere is survived by his wife, Mrs. Fatsuma John, six children, his aged mother Mama Ladi Japhet Kashere, and other relatives. He has been laid to rest in accordance with Christian rites.

In a related development, Deputy Governor Jatau has also extended his condolences to the Assistant Transport Officer, Mal. Sagir Adamu, over the death of his elder sister, Harira Suleman Maitabarma, who passed away at the age of 80. A delegation led by Mal. Balarabe Musa, Transport Officer, Deputy Governor’s Office, represented the Deputy Governor at the funeral.

Deputy Governor Jatau conveyed his sorrow over every loss in the state, recognizing the valuable contributions of each individual to the state’s progress. He consoled the family by highlighting the enduring legacies left behind by Mama Harira Suleman Maitabarma, urging them to embrace these legacies as a source of comfort.

The family of the late Harira Suleman Maitabarma expressed their appreciation for the Deputy Governor’s compassion and prayed for his continued blessings. The deceased has been interred at the Muslim cemetery along Bajoga Road.
