Group commends growing acceptance of family planning in Yobe
The Yobe Family Planning Media Advocacy Team, has expressed satisfaction over the growing acceptance of family planning among women in the state.
The Chairman, Mustapha Musa, made the expression at an event to commemorate the 2025 National Safe Motherhood Day on Friday in Damaturu.
Musa said that reports available to the team showed that more women residing in rural areas had embraced family planning.
He said that the positive turn was as a result of sustained awareness campaigns and improved access to health services.
The chairman further stated the state government had worked assiduously with other stakeholders to improve health indicators that were related to maternal and child health.
Musa said that increased uptake of birth spacing services had been driven by availability of consumables at health facilities and regular antenatal health talks.
