Health: Zamfara First Lady receives honor award for promoting health care delivery

The Zamfara State Primary Health Care Board (SPHCB) has presented a honor award to Zamfara First Lady, Hajiya Aisha Matawalle as a recognition for her tremendious contributions towards promoting health care delivery in the state.

This is contained in a statement issued in Gusau by the Press Secretary to the First Lady, Zainab Shu’aibu.

Receiving the honor award, The First Lady said “I appreciate the SPHCB and State Ministry of Health for recognizing our efforts to promote health care delivery especially among women in rural communities.

“I introduced Mama Kits project, where we provided delivery kits to over 10,000 women across the state.

“The gesture is aimed at supporting them to promote safer delivery among pregnant women in the state”, Hajiya Matawalle said.

“This is to complement government’s efforts in promoting health care delivery in the state.

“The project helped women in the state especially in the rural communities to be visiting hospitals frequently.

“We noticed that the project has reduced the rate of maternal death during and after pregnancy, she said.

“I am using this medium to thank My Husband Governor Bello Matawalle for his kind support to my office, I dedicated this honor award to him for standing for me.

“I am also extending my great to  appreciations to him for giving women much priority in his administration.

 “I appreciate the effort of the staff of my office for timely delivery of all our programmes and activities”, she added.

The First Lady commended Commissioner, and entire staff of the state Ministry of Health, Managements of Health Parastatals in the state for their support to her programmes.

Presenting the award to the First Lady the Executive Secretary, SPHCB, Dr Ismail Tukur Gusau said the award is in recognition of Her Excellency’s contributions in promoting health sector of the state.

“its a great pleasure to give this award of execellent to the First Lady in-line with her endless support to health care delivery in the state”

“This is in line with her maternal and child care health programmes, one of her topmost priorities looking at the high induce in maternal mortality in the state 

“Its a recognition of her support and encouragement noticed by the Board in the health sector especially at primary level.

“We noticed tremendous contributions through Mama Kit Project which has changed the lives of women in the state.

“We noticed that the Mama Kits project has reduced the rate of maternal death during and after pregnancy”, the Executive Secretary said

The State  Commissioner of Health, Alhaji Yahaya kanoma described the award as a timely and welcome development.

Kanoma described Hajiya Aisha Matawalle as hard working mother working towards changing the lives of Zamfara women. 

Among important personalities that attended the occasion are, Hajiya Fatima Musa, Special Adviser, Office of the First Lady, Special Adviser to Governor  Matawalle on Investment, Dr Rabi Ibrahim Shinkafi, the Permanent Secretary of the state Ministry for Women and Children Affairs, Hajiya Halima Bungudu among others.
