A 34-year-old man identified as Dare Onipede stands accused of fatally stabbing his wife, Arinola, aged 32, following allegations of infidelity in Ekiti State.

DSP Sunday Abutu, the Public Relations Officer of the Ekiti State Police Command, confirmed the incident, which was reported by the couple’s children on Saturday, April 27.

The distressing incident happened over the weekend at Christ Avenue in the Adebayo area of Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.

According to an undisclosed resident in the vicinity, the couple had dispatched their eldest child on an errand before engaging in a heated argument within the confines of their apartment.

Reports suggest that the altercation escalated as both parties resorted to the use of sharp objects, resulting in severe injuries. Dare Onipede, purportedly a law enforcement agent, and his wife, who worked in a chemist shop, sustained wounds during the confrontation.

This tragic incident underscores the devastating consequences of domestic disputes and highlights the urgent need for interventions to prevent such occurrences in the future.
