I don’t know my husband’s family, divorce seeking wife tells court
A divorce-seeking woman, Rihanat Abdulsalam, on Tuesday, told the Area Court, Centre-Igboro, Ilorin, that she has not met her husband’s family since she got married to him.
Abdulsalam who is seeking separation in her marriage with Saheed Adegunju, told the court that her husband refused to take her to his family despite several pleas.
“He gives excuses whenever I ask him to take me to his family, it continued until I gave birth to our child,” she said.

She also said that Adegunju had stopped performing his responsibilities both as a father and husband.
“I pray the court for divorce, I want to take custody of my child. Let him give me a maintenance fee of N30,000 monthly,”she said.
The Judge, Idris Etsu ordered that the court process should be served on the husband again, saying,” the case will proceed whether he appears in court or not”
Etsu adjourned the case to Sept. 30, for hearing.
