Igbos in Kebbi affirm support for Kauran Gwandu in 2027
The Igbo Community in Kebbi State has pledged full support for the continuation of Governor Nasir Idris’ administration beyond 2027.

They expressed satisfaction about the peaceful coexistence between the Ndigbo and their host communities under the Kauran Gwandu-led APC government, highlighting the appointment of Chief Osita Mgbeafuluba as Special Adviser to the Governor on Other Tribes as a testament to the administration’s inclusivity.

Speaking at the distribution of 300 bags of 25kg rice donated by the Governor to the Igbo community in Birnin Kebbi on Sunday, the Eze Igbo of Gwandu Emirate, Eze (Ozo) Emeka Emeson Okafor, commended Governor Idris for his generosity and commitment to all tribes in the state.
“Kauran Gwandu has provided food for our people, and we are deeply grateful. His kindness is well known, and we will continue to support his administration,” he said.

Eze Okafor also praised the Governor’s achievements in infrastructure and human capital development, pledging unwavering support from the Igbo community for his future political aspirations.
He further appealed to the Governor to issue an Executive Order for the refurbishment of the Igbo Meeting Hall in Birnin Kebbi, which is currently in a state of disrepair.
Chief Osita Mgbeafuluba reaffirmed the Igbos’ commitment to Kebbi’s development under Governor Idris.

“Comrade Nasir Idris is the first Nigerian Governor to show such generosity to the Igbo community. He is our father, and we are proud of him. We stand with him 100% for 2027,” he declared.
The Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmad Birnin Kebbi, described the Igbos as enterprising and progressive, emphasizing the Governor’s dedication to unity and development.

He lauded Governor Idris’ transformation of Birnin Kebbi into a modern city and his unwavering support for economic growth.
The Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, Nura Bala Fingila, commended the Igbo community for fostering unity and assured that the renovation of the Igbo Meeting Hall would be carried out in due course.

The event concluded with the distribution of rice to beneficiaries, including widows, by the Commissioners and the Governor’s media aide, Yahaya Sarki.
Chief Osita Mgbeafuluba also unveiled a campaign vehicle in support of Governor Idris’ second-term bid, with the inscription: “Reward for good work is more work – 4+4 Kauran Gwandu.”
