Kidnaping: Police Rescues 2-Year-Old Girl, Arrests 3 Suspects In Kebbi

The Police Command, in Kebbi, says it has arrested three suspected kidnappers and rescued a two- year -old victim (name withheld), who was kidnapped at Ambursa town of Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area of the state.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP, Nafi’u Abubakar, made this known in a statement made available to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday.

“On March 20, one Hussaini Muhammad of Ambursa town, Birnin Kebbi LGA, reported that on the March 19, his daughter (name withheld) of two- year- old age got missing.

“Later, he was called by an unknown person, who claimed to be a kidnapper and demanded the sum of N500,000 or else they would kill her,” he said.

Abubakar added that their operatives swung into action on receipt of the reported.

“During the course of investigation, the victim was rescued and one Abba Abubakar ’21’, a neighbour to the victim, was arrested.

” In the course of further investigation, he confessed to have conspired with one Hadiza Ahmed ’30’, also a neighbour to the victim, kidnapped and took the victim to one Zainab Muhammad ’35’ of Gulumbe village, Birnin Kebbi LGA,”he said.

According to him, all the suspects were all arrested in connection with the case and the victim had been reunited with her family.

He said that all the suspects would soon be charged to court after the completion of the investigation.

“In view of the above, the Commissioner of Police, Kebbi state command,CP, Adeleke Adeyinka Bode, hereby implores the good people of the state to be vigilante and wary of criminals while entrusting their children to their neighbors as well as their relations,” the PPRO said.
