LG polls : Yobe IPAC urges SIEC to shun partisanship

The Yobe Chapter of the Inter party Advisory Council (IPAC) has called on the State Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC) to shun partisan politics.
Briefing newsmen in Damaturu, IPAC chairman, Alhaji Umar Jajere, said the call was necessary in view of the upcoming local government councils elections in the state.
According to him, SIEC should conduct the elections with fear of God and in line with the provisions of the law.
“We acknowledge the commitment of Yobe state Governor, Mai Mala Buni in making sure the election take place in a free, fair and conducive environment.
“We assured government and good people of the state that, equal level playing ground will be provided by all the candidate of various registered political parties”, he said.
Jajere also charged all political parties in the state to present their candidates in the elections slated for May 25.
he chairman called on all eligible voter to come out en-mass to vote for candidates of their choice.
