The operation according to Lieutenant Colonel Abubakar Abdullahi, the Chief of Military Public Information, was prompted by intelligence reports pointing to the presence of Boko Haram terrorists near Alayi Bulanti in the Mobbar Local Government Area of Borno State. Deployed from their base in Damasak, the brave troops embarked on a fighting patrol that led them into a direct confrontation with the insurgents.
