More Than hundred Fulani women benefited from the Federal Government Special Cash Transfer

In Kebbi state more than one hundred Fulani women benefited from the Federal Government Special Cash Transfer for Rural Women of twenty thousand naira each to improve their economic wellbeing.
The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Hajiya Sadiya umar Faruq, presented the cash grant, at Fulani settlement of Hutawa near Birnin Kebbi, as part of her visit to Kebbi state to flag-off the programme.

The minister was excited about the way she saw Fulani women being trained on modern method of yoghurt production from cow milk, sponsored by Kebbi state government, where each woman received fourty thousand naira in addition to other materials and advised those who received training to put it into practice..

She said the gesture was presided President Muhammadu Buhari’s policy thrust of assisting people below poverty line and vulnerable persons which has made positive impact specifically on women considered pillars of the home.

She was accompanied to Hutawa Fulani settlement by a high powered delegation from the state, comprising of Secretary to the State Government, Chief of Staff Government House, acting Head of Service, Commissioners, Officials of Animal Health to appreciate the effort of the Abubakar Atiku Bagudu led administration on rural transforming and improving the lives of persons with disabilities.

Before her visit to Rugga, the minister performed similar disbursement of cash grant for rural women from five local government areas in the state. 
In separate remarks the Secretary to the State Government, represented by the Ag. Head of Service, Alhaji Safiyanu Garba Bena and Permanent Secretary Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, Hajiya Aishatu Usman highlighted various programmes initiated by the state government for women empowerment, Fulani herdsmen, businessmen and entrepreneurs.
In 2017 the Kebbi state government sponsored Fulani leaders, pastoralists, and women Fulani to Iseyin Fuani Centre in Oyo state where they were trained on modern milk collection and processing.
The Kebbi State Governor, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu has visited almost all Fulani settlements popularly known as “Runto Fulbe” in the 21 local government areas where he energized them with financial support, portable drinking water, schools and animal feeds to enhancing their income. 
In addition the Kebbi state government also provided financial support to farmers, fishermen and local rice processors as well as fish smokers across the state.
