NATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR  SPORTS GET NEW REGISTRAR 

The Minister of Youth and Sports Development Mr. Sunday Dare has approved the appointment of Mr. Belmond Benson as the new Registrar of the National Institute for Sports. 

This followed the retirement from service of the former Registrar Mr. Musibau Adeneye who retired from the Institute in March 6th, 2023 after attaining the mandatory retirement age of 60 years.

According to the letter of appointment signed by the Director General of the Institute Prof. Olawale Moronkola. It read in parts that “Further to the letter dated 5th April, 2023, received from the Permanent Secretary,  Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, I have the mandate of the Hon. Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Sunday Dare to convey to you approval to appoint you as the Registrar of the National Institute for Sports, Surulere, Lagos,  for five (5) years single tenure with effect from the date you assume duty”. The letter further stated “This appointment was based on your successful performance at the interview”.

Prior to his appointment, Mr. Benson, was former Acting Registrar and the current Senior Deputy Registrar Establishment of Adamawa State University, Mubi

He’s a well groomed University administrator having rose through the ranks as an Administrative Officer to the rank of a Senior Deputy Registrar. 

He is a graduate of Public Administration from the University of Maiduguri and holds a Masters degree in the same field from the Adamawa State University, Mubi. He’s currently a PhD student. He is a member of the Institute of Registered Administrative Managers of Nigeria(IRAMN) and Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUPA). He’s married and blessed with children.
