POLICE ARREST SUSPECTED MOTORCYCLE SNATCHER IN ZAMFARA
The Zamfara State police command has arrested one Suleiman Baba Maiyaki in connection with the alleged motorcycle snatching.
This is contained in a statement issued in Gusau on Thursday by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Muhammad Shehu.
Shehu said that the arrest was sequel to a report received from a complainant one Zaharaddeen Bashir from Kwotorkoshi emirate in Bungudu local governments area of the state.
“On 26th June, 2021, the Complainant who happened to be an Okada rider was riding his motorcycle along new motor park area Gusau, when he was stopped by the suspect and asked him to convey him to Barakallahu arean in Gusau.

“Getting to the destination, the suspect told the complainant to stop and wait by one uncompleted building that he claimed to belongs to him.
“While the complainant was waiting with his motorcycle, the suspect armed with stick suddenly appeared and hit the victim to a point of coma”, he explained.
“As a result, the victims fell down uncociously, until few minutes before he regained himself inside a drainage.
“Receiving the report police operatives rushed to the scene and rescued the victim to the hospital where he was treated by medical personnel.
“The police in collaboration with the relatives of the victim arrested the suspect along bye pass road, Gusau.
“Interrogation, the suspect confessed to the allegations against him and will be charged to court for prosecution”, Shehu added.
He further said that the snatched boxer motorcycle was recovered as an exhibit.
The state police command will sustain the tempo to continue to stem the tide of criminal activities in the state.
