The attention of the Chief David Sabo Kente campaign organization has been drawn to a petition written, purportedly by a group who call themselves officials of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kente Ward of Wukari local government area in Taraba state.

Ordinarily we would have no reason to answer to this senseless outburst by these paid individuals as they are not the legally elected officials of the party, but a bunch of disgruntled elements sponsored by desperate power mongers who are bent on taking over control of the party in the state at all cost, especially through illegal means since they could not do so through the right channels.

However, for the sake of clarity and posterity, we make the following clarifications base on facts and figures and a true representation of things in the state chapter of the party for the past number of years when most of these power mongers were working with the opposition to suppress our party at all cost;

1. First of all, it is important to state that Chief David Sabo Kente joined the APC since 2016 and has remained a strong party man since then. It is equally important to state the obvious that the purported petitioners are not the authentic officials of Kente ward as produced by the July 31, 2021 ward Congress  of  APC.

It is worthy of note that these individuals parading themselves as officials of the party in Kente ward lost out in the ward Congress. Since  the outcome of the Congress the group have accused Chief David Sabo Kente of been responsible for their political misfortunes. They have since turned into opposition and identified themselves with these desperate politicians from the zone.

2. We are aware that the sponsors of the petition is principally an APC senatorial  aspirant from the southern zone and funded by the  desperate governorship aspirant. We are also aware that the senatorial aspirant, who serves as errand boy for the governorship aspirant, came to wukari last week to hold a meeting with the fake kente Ward  APC officials and gave them one Million Naira to write the trash called petition. 

3. The petitioners  were recruited by a desperate APC governorship aspirant from the southern zone to tarnish the image of Chief Kente who has been regarded as stumbling block to the aspirations of the desperate politician. 

4. It will sound not only funny but a figment of imagination for anybody to accuse Kente of either romancing or working for Governor Darius Ishaku of PDP . The duo who are like Cat and Dog cannot and have never at any time sat at a round table to discuss  politics. 

5. On financial inducement,  Kente says is laughable. He has been a successful businessman with his business interests scattered across Nigeria and West Africa. There is no doubt, Governor Darius and Kente have met twice in the last few years. The first was during the donation of Agricultural equipment to the state government by the North East Development Commission last year. During the event,  Chief Kente publicly accused Governor Darius of frustrating smooth operations of the Commission in Taraba state and that is on record. Another meeting between Kente and Governor Darius was during a courtesy visit by management  of the Commission early 2021. During the visit Darius gave two cartoons of highland Tea as souvenir to Chief Kente, like every other member of the team. Probably the two cartoons of highland Tea are misconstrued by the mischief makers to be money. 

6. For the benefit of doubt, Taraba state has not enjoy the most desired social amenities and infrastructures from the NORTH EAST DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION  where Kente served on the  board as commissioner representing the state because  Governor Darius who view Kente as a threat to his administration,  has refused to cooperate and create enabling environment for such development in Taraba.

7. It is on record that Chief Kente has been funding APC in his home local government, Wukari and at the state level for the past six years. He had purchased several vehicles for the operations of the Party across Taraba state. 

8. Kente has remained consistent in APC since 2016. He has spent hundreds of millions in pursuing his aspirations to govern the good people of Taraba state.  Is it not ridiculous for such a person to be accused of anti-party? 

9. Chief Kente also remains the best Taraba Politician that has touched the lives of the common man across the 16 local government areas of the state through his DSK Foundation.

10. We wish to advise these desperate politicians to change their ways and concentrate on empowerment of the masses the if they want to gain the popularity and general acceptability of the people the way Kente is viewed by Taraba.
