Security: Zamfara APGA Leader clarifies N5 m allegation against APC

Dr Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi a Leader of the All Progressive Grant Alliance (APGA) in Zamfara state has clarified his  allegation of N57 m offer to bandits against All Progressive Congress (APC) chieftains in the state.

Shinkafi made the clarification at a press conference in Gusau on Wednesday.

“If we recalls, there was incident of abduction of 279 female students of Government Secondary School, Jangebe in Talata-Mafara Local Government Area of the state recently.

“Very unfortunate when the state government was making efforts to secure the release of the abducted schoolgirls some unpatriotic citizens were working against their release.

“As a member of the State Committee for Finding Solutions to Armed Banditry, l received the information of an allegation that some politicians in the state offer N57 m to bandits not to release the schoolgirls”, Shinkafi alleged.

“But unfortunately for them the state government through its peace dialogue process successfully secured the release of the kidnapped students after Four days in captivity and reunited them with their families.

“Though I didn’t, mentioned name of any politicians in this allegation but my understanding is that there was various allegations against APC chieftains in the state working against state government initiated peace diaolgue.

“Various recommendations of our committee indited several APC members in the state, therefore my allegations is very clear and understandable”, he explained.

Shinkafi commended President Muhammadu Buhari’s directive to deploy additional 6000 security personnel to the state.

He said the measure would strengthen the workforce of security agencies in the state.

“The Presidential directives of giving two months bandits in the state to surrender all their arms is also commendable with this more bandits and their  leaders are expected to embrace dialogue through the state peace process.

“As a member of the state committee for finding solutions to insecurity in the state, l am giving you this information officially.

“We are currently working with the repentant bandits to ensure that even the kidnappers of Jangebe students accept the peace dialogue.

“It is very unfortunate that despite the efforts of  government and security agencies some group are working against it, ” Shinkafi lamented.
