Sokoto 8 Div  Army Conducts Interfaith Prayers For  Peace In Nigerian

As part of activities lined up for the 2022 Armed Forces Remembrance Day, the 8 Division, Nigerian Army, Sokoto today conducted interfaith prayers for the repose of the souls of all fallen heroes and divine protection for those in the service as well as return of peace to every part of the country. 

Leading the prayers, both the 8 Div Chaplain, Lieutenant Colonel, Elimi Clement and the Chief Imam of the Giginya barracks, Lieutenant Abubakar Muhammad urged service men to continually seek the face of God, adding, He will grant them victories against enemies of the land. 

Speaking at the venue of the prayer before proceeding for sanitation exercise at Danny’s opposite the barracks, the General Officer Commanding, (GOC), Major General Uwem Bassey honoured one Samson Kefas for his honestly in returning found expensive mobile phone to the owner.

The GOC who was represented by the 8 Div Garrison Commander, Brigadier General Ralph Nnemeife

also presenting cash gift  and plague to Samson, the 22 years old son of one of the fallen heroes.

General Ralph further appreciated Samson’s honestly and advised other youths to uphold the tenets of sincerity demonstrated by the young orphan.

“We are honouring this young man, Samson Kefas today for despite being an orphan, he found an “expensive” phone and returned it to the owner without requesting for any gratification”.

Brigadier General Ralp further led the military to conduct sanitation exercise from the ever busy welcome to Sokoto road through Danbua and Tamaje settlements within the metropolis. 

Ralp who personally participated in the sanitation exercise on behalf of the GOC, Maj General Uwem Basset stressed that cleanliness is next to Godliness, hence they are cleaning civilian settlements as a demonstration of their cordial civil-military relationship.

Military personnel of the 8 Div participated in the sanitation exercise with enthusiasm seeing how civilians were marveled at their show of humility.
