The Nigeria Super Eagles expressed disappointment over their defeat at the 2023 CAF African Cup of Nations final.

The Elephants of Côte d’Ivoire claimed victory in the final match on Sunday, securing the championship title. The Ivorians triumphed over the Super Eagles of Nigeria in a closely contested match, with a final score of 2-1. Goals from Franck Kessie and Sebastien Haller overturned Troost-Ekong’s opener, sealing the win for Côte d’Ivoire.

Despite their pre-game confidence, the Super Eagles players and officials were unable to secure the championship.

Reacting to their loss in a tweet on Monday, the Eagles expressed their disappointment but also gratitude for the silver medal they earned. “Disappointed, yet we make do with the Silver Medal,” the Eagles wrote.

The Nigerian team acknowledged the disappointment of falling short of the championship title but emphasized their appreciation for the achievement of securing the silver medal at the prestigious tournament.
