Taraba speakership: Central Zone first time Member enjoys both colleagues and opposition support
There are indications that Taraba is about to experience a total overhauled of the House of Assembly as for the first time 20 out of the 24 members are entirely new and majority of them are in support of a first time member to be the next speaker.
Though this will not be the first time a first time member gained such support as late Tsokwa was also a first timer and became the speaker.
Speaking to one of the Members of the State House of Assembly on who will be their next speaker, he confirmed that the house will be bringing in a new member to preside over the house
When asked if experience would not be a determinant in choosing the next Speaker,he said almost all the members are new and also they are interested in choosing a leader that can work with the Governor elect to ensure he achieve his vision for the good of the people.
When asked why he thinks the opposition members are in support of the soon to be Speaker,he said because he is a young man with a vision,he has the state at heart and he is full of respect and humility.
Furthermore, he said. ”they feel they will be save with him presiding over the affairs of the House, he is someone who has development as his watch word and they believe he will lead them right ,unite the house towards focusing on greater Taraba and also advise the Governor well.
He confirmed that the speakership will be coming from the central Zone of the state and already a young new member has the blessings of the entire new team.

”he further disclosed that the Young man who’s name is withheld also already has the blessings of even the opposition members noting that they have tested him on coordinating them before and he is good and has great respect towards his colleagues.
Possibly the youngest in the house but he has the ability and capability to lead and deliver. He is outspoken and brilliant, his ability to solve issues, his smartness,his sagacity and charisma makes him outstanding and equally put him in that position
He however stated that they are only waiting for the Governor Elect Col. Agbu Kefas to bless the young man and they are good to go because the Governor definitely has to be in agreement with the decision.
When asked if he thinks Agbu Kefas will be okay working with the young man, he said he has no doubt because the young man is close to the Governor Elect, he is very loyal to the Governor elect and this thing is all about loyalty.
”its about the person you believe can carry your vision and Kefas has some level of trust for him and has worked closely with him before, during and even after the elections”.
He ended by saying I assure you we are going to have a vibrant 10th house of Assembly and we need a young man who will understand our level of speed because the incoming government will hit the ground running from the get go.
There is no doubt that Taraba is about to experience a total youthful Government as both the executives and Legislative will be headed by young people.
