Thursday Environmental Sanitation: OWMA GM task Osun residents on compliance

The General Manager, Osun Waste Management Agency, OWMA, Sanitarian Fatai Oladosu Oyewole has encouraged all residents of the state to continue to key into the weekly Thursday’s environmental sanitation exercise to ensure healthy living.

The General Manager while speaking shortly after monitoring today’s weekly exercise in Osogbo metropolis, particularly charged the residents to make cleanliness a daily affair to ward off any form of diseases.

During the exercise, some people were arrested at different locations within the state capital for violating environmental sanitation law.

Sanitarian Oyewole noted that anybody who violates environmental sanitation laws in the state will face the full wrath of the law.

The OWMA GM, particularly lauded the state Governor, Senator Nurudeen Jackson Ademola Adeleke for his proactiveness and commitment to prevent flooding in the state, saying his efforts in pursuing welfare of the residents of the state cannot be over emphasis.

Sanitarian Oyewole described the Thursday’s exercise as a successful, with high level of compliance, even as he further encouraged all residents including market men and women as well as other business owners to continue to cooperate and support government to ensure healthy and hygienic environment for all to leave in.

While charging the residents to always keep their waste in waste bins for easy evacuation by waste collectors, he warned them against dumping of refuse in unauthorized places, saying it is unhygienic.

The OWMA boss added that, the agency will continue to ensure that, Osun State is free completely from refuse pilation and must remain clean and hygienic for all to live.

“On behalf of the management of OWMA, am using this medium to appreciate the Governor of the state, Senator Nurudeen Jackson Ademola Adeleke, the Commissioner for Environment and Sanitation, Hon Mayowa Adejorin, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Environment and Sanitation, Hon Babatunde Adeniyi Balogun for their usual unalloyed and unflinching support to the OWMA as and when due”.
