VGADA rehab centre hails NDLEA’s radio initiative against drug abuse

Vanguard Against Drug Abuse (VGADA) rehab Centre hails the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for establishing Clean Beat 91.5 FM Abuja.

This is contained in a statement in Abuja on Friday, by the Managing Director of VGADA, Dr Hope Omeiza.

Omeiza described the initiative as a strategic platform to strengthen public enlightenment and preventive campaigns against drug abuse in Nigeria.

He described the establishment of the FM station as a major milestone in Nigeria’s fight against substance abuse and illicit drug trafficking.

According to him, the establishment of the station will significantly enhance awareness creation, early prevention, stigma reduction and sustained public engagement on drug-related issues.

He congratulated the NDLEA Chairman, retired, Brig.-Gen. Buba Marwa, the management and personnel of the agency for what he called a bold and visionary initiative.

”This radio station represents a strategic intervention designed to deepen public enlightenment, preventive education and social advocacy against drug abuse across the country.

”Clean Beat 91.5 FM is not just a broadcasting platform but a transformational initiative that will drive positive values and behavioural change in society,” he said.

The VGADA managing director noted that the station would play a critical role in promoting healthy lifestyles, educating communities and strengthening discussions.

He said this would centre around drug prevention, mental health, youth development, security and social responsibility among others.

VGADA Specialist Drug Rehab Centres recognises the enormous potential of the media as a powerful tool for behavioural change and societal transformation.

”As an organisation, we are actively engaged in addiction treatment, rehabilitation, mental health support and community-based interventions,” he said.

Omeiza also noted that the NDLEA had continued to demonstrate commitment to innovative and multi-sectoral approaches in addressing the increasing challenges of substance abuse in Nigeria.

He reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to sustained collaboration with the NDLEA towards building a drug-free, healthy and productive society.

He also wished Clean Beat 91.5 FM Abuja, successful operations, impactful broadcasting, wider reach and enduring relevance in advancing national development and service to humanity.

Voice Media Trust (VMT NEWS) reports that VGADA Detox Centre, is a Specialist Drug Rehab Centre domiciled Abuja.

The centre offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services for drug addiction and other addiction disorders, stress related disorders and mental health disorders among others.
