We’ll work with Governor Agbu to ensure security, economic emancipation – Taraba Speaker

Sylvanus Viashima, Jalingo

The Speaker of Taraba State House of Assembly Honorable Kizito Bonzana has assured that the legislature will work closely with the State Governor Dr Kefas Agbu to tackle insecurity and ensure economic emancipation of the state.

Bonzana disclosed this in Jalingo on Tuesday while interacting with journalists.

Bonzana said that the House will make policies that will make it easier for the state government to implement it’s Blueprint especially in the areas of security, economic growth, agriculture, youth development and others.

“I want to say that so far, we are impressed with some of the steps taken by the governor so far. The recently held Youth, security and economic summit is a step in the right direction.

“I want to assure you all that, as a House, we are poised to ensure that we give the Executive the needed cooperation to achieve the Taraba of our dream.

“Let me inform you that I have already mandated all the members to think outside the box to come up with Bills that will facilitate the implementation of the policies of this administration.

“We would not, and I repeat that we would not be a rubber stamp Assembly. However, we would not needlessly oppose the Executive just for the fun of it. We would work collaboratively for the good of Taraba and Tarabans. We would also step up our oversight functions to ensure that there is no complacency in ministries, agencies and parastatals. I assure you that Taraba will be great again”
