Yobe govt. sets Jan. 31 deadline for Hajj fare payment
The Yobe Hajj Commission has set Jan 31 as the deadline for all intending pilgrims to make full payment of the 2025 Hajj fare.
Alhaji Suleiman Sabo, the Commission’s Spokesman, stated this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Damaturu on Friday.
He said intending pilgrims who made part payment for the exercise must complete their payments on or before Jan 31.
“All payments for the Hajj are to be concluded before the deadline to enable the commission compile the actual list of intending pilgrims for the exercise this year and remit all funds to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
“Documentation and processing of visas will only be carried out for pilgrims who have made complete payment,” Sabo said.

According to him, based on NAHCON’s recent announcement of over N8.3m as the 2025 Hajj fare for the state, every intending pilgrim now knows the amount he or she is expected to pay as balance.
The spokesman said the commission would pay each pilgrim the sum of $500 dollars as Basic Travelers Allowance (BTA), adding that adequate arrangements were made for feeding pilgrims in Mecca.
He thanked Gov. Mai Mala Buni for his sustained support toward the successful conduct of the exercise.
