Yobe: NUJ Chairman assures to continue to enlighten the public on the ongoing nationwide continuous voters registration exercise

The chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, Yobe State Council, comrade Rajab Muhammad has reassured the readiness of the union to collaborate with the Independent National Electoral Commission on the ongoing nationwide continuous voters registration exercise.

 The Chairman gave the assurance when the newly posted head of voter education of the commission  Alhaji Nuhu Ibrahim paid him a courtesy visit at his office in Damaturu.

 Comrade Rajab said the union is ready to support the commission in achieving its primary responsibilities, especially the ongoing continuous voters registration across the state.

 According to him, NUJ serves as a bridge between the government and citizens, and assures to continue in that direction.

 Comrade Rajab Muhammad further stated that the union would continue to educate and enlighten the public on government policies and programmes, and urged the newly posted head of voter education to partner with the union to achieve the set objectives.

 Earlier, the new state head of voter registration of the Independent Electoral Commission, Alhaji Nuhu Ibrahim, said he is at the NUJ secretariat to seek collaboration with the NUJ towards the success of continuous voter registration and other activities of the commission.

 He appreciates the support being given to the commission by the working journalists in the state and urges them to maintain the tempo.

 Alhaji Nuhu Ibrahim commended the chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, Yobe state council, comrade Rajab Muhammad, for the support the union is giving to INEC in amplifying the commission’s activities to the good people of the state.
