Yobe State Governor Buni has expressed deep sadness over a wave of recent deaths-Calls for Prayers
Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has expressed deep sadness over a wave of recent deaths across the state, calling on residents to unite in prayer for the deceased and their families.
In a statement issued through his Director General of Press and Media Affairs, Mamman Mohammed, the governor described the recent loss of notable community leaders, public servants, and elder statesmen within a short period as a profound blow to Yobe State.
Among those mourned by the governor are the late Emir of Ngazargamu, former Permanent Secretaries Dr. Bukar Aji and Alhaji Ligali Ma’aji, alongside Alhaji Yakubu Dokshi, Hajiya Mairiga Umar, and Alhaji Kafchi Shettima, among others.

Governor Buni noted that the deceased individuals had served their communities and the state with distinction, leaving behind legacies that contributed significantly to the region’s development.
Acknowledging the emotional toll on the affected families and the wider public, the governor urged citizens to take solace in their faith during what he described as a trying period.
“As faithful, we all know death is a necessary end, it will always come at the prescribed time as ordained by Allah,” Buni said, extending his condolences and praying for God to forgive their shortcomings, grant them eternal rest in *Aljannah Firdaus*, and give their families the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
