Zamfara CP tasks police officers to comply with Covid-19 protocols

The Zamfara state Commissioner of Police, Mr Abutu Yaro has called on police officers and men in the state to ensure effective compliance with Covid-19 protocols.

Yaro gave the charge while addressing  officers and men of the force at the Gusau Police Area Command Office on Saturday.

The newly deployed CP embarked on a statewide  familiarisation tour to security stakeholders and police formations.

“As officers and men of the Nigerian police, you must comply with the federal government’s directives of use of face masks.

“The face masks is part of your uniform, you must be familiar with it at all time”, Abutu said.

Abutu also charged police personnel in the state against misconducts.

“As police men, you are law enforcement officers, you must be guided inline with law.

“You should distance yourself from rape, drug abuse, stealing or alcoholic.

“You must be dedicated to duty and avoid habit of absenteeism, you should be punctual to duty”, he said.

“We should avoid corruption, don’t turn your duty post as a point of tax collection, if you are caught doing such, we will deal with you decesively

“As police officers, you are suppose to be role  model, you must give a good example, so as to earn respect for the Nigerian Police Force”, the CP added.

The CP also cautioned the recently recruited police constablaries by the state government against carrying out illegal duties.

“As special constabularies, your main duty is information gathering,

“You are to support police with information from your  communities.

“You shouldn’t intervene in any general police duty”, CP added.
