ZAMFARA FIRST LADY RECEIVES AWARD OF FIRST LADY OF THE YEAR
The First Lady of Zamfara state, Hajiya Aisha Bello Matawalle has been awarded as Indigenous First Lady of the Year by the Indigenous Women Award (IWA) an NGO.
This is contained in a statement issued in Gusau by the Press Secretary to the First Lady, Zainab Shuaibu Abdullahi.
According to the statement, Hajiya Aisha Bello Matawalle who was nominated along with the First Lady of Gombe, Kaduna and Kwara emerged as the best choice to the award because of her passion to uplift women in Zamfara state.

Abdullahi said the organizers of the award focuses on great leaders who have the heart for the development of the youth and girl child which is the main thrust of the First Lady’s pet project such as the Zamfara Women Empowerment Programme, Mama Kit Projects, and fight against rape and Genders Based Violence.

“The award was given to the First Lady for her steadfast contribution and consistency in promoting indigenous content globally.
“The First Lady was awarded on merit due to her commitments in promoting and helping women in the state and also working tired less on protecting gender equality promote indigenous content”, She explained.
