ZAMFARA HUMANITARIAN MINISTRY LAUDS PASSAGE OF SOCIAL PROTECTION BILL

The Zamfara Ministry for Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development has commended state house of assembly for passing state social protection bill.

This is contained in a statement issued in Gusau on Friday by the Director Information of the Ministry, Bashir Kabir Ahmad.

The state house of assembly has on Thursday passed State Social Protection and Disability bills.

According to the statement, ”  Commissioner of the Ministry, Hajiya Fa’ika Ahmad said the passage of long-awaited social protection bill into law by the state house of assembly is highly commendable and welcome development to the state”.

Fa’ika described the passage of the bill as a giant effort towards all inclusive social development in the state.

She also appreciated the leadership of the Sixth assembly in the state led by the Speaker, Alhaji Nasiru Magarya for always giving priority to issues related to humanitarian affairs and disaster management.

She explained that the thorough legislative processes carried out before the passage of the bill into law assured the willingness of the house in complementing the passion and efforts of Gov Bello Matawalle’s administration in cushioning the hardship of vulnerable persons across the state.

Hajiya Fa’ika expressed optimism that the bill will in no delay be assented by the governor taking into cognizance of his continuous commitments towards better life for the people of state.

She also appreciated the participation and support of the Save the Children International (SCI) and other partners and who have been supportive to all the social protection programmes in the state.
