Zamfara Lawmaker distributes 100 Cows, Farming Equipment to Farmers.

The Lawmaker representing Bungudu/Maru federal constituency, Alhaji Shehu Ahmad has distributed 100 cows, animals traction equipment, irrigation pumps and sprayers to farmers in Maru and Bungudu LGAs.

Speaking at the presentation of the items to the beneficiaries on Sunday in Maru town, the lawmaker, Shehu Ahmad, said the gesture is part of the fulfilment of his campaign promises.

The items were distributed through the lawmaker’s initiated NGO, “Fulbe Care Initiative”.

Ahmad said that, the aim of the gesture is to provide employment opportunities to our teeming youths.

“This is one of our farmers support project aimed at supporting our women and unemployed youths to be self reliant in future.

“We are collaborating with federal ministry of Agriculture and farmers association for implementing this project.

“We procured 100 cows, animal traction equipments and other farming inputs  to be given to various beneficiaries from the two LGAs through cooperatives”, Ahmad said

“We are working to provide more projects for the benefits of our people”, he added.

In his remark, the State PDP Chairman, Alhaji Tukur Danfulani commended the lawmaker for the gesture to the beneficiaries.

Danfulani represented by State PDP Vice Chairman, Alhaji Hassan Damri said that the PDP leadership is appreciating the lawmakers’support to his constituents.

He called on the beneficiaries to utilize the items given to them in order to utilize with them.

The State PDP Women Leader, Hajiya Aisha Waziri urged commended the lawmaker for considering women in his empowerment programmes.

Waziri appealled to women beneficiaries to use the items given to them judiciously in order to benefit from them.

The Director in charge of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture Office in the state, Alhaji Musa Raji commended the efforts of the lawmaker.

Raji said the efforts is in line with the federal government’s policy to revive agricultural sector as well as well as improving the food security in the country.

He cautioned the beneficiries against selling of the items.

A consultant of the project, Abdullahi Nakwada said the 100 pairs of animals traction equipments, 240 irrigation pumps, 240 sprayers were donated to the beneficiaries.

“We are going to train the beneficiaries on how to use the items economically,” Nakwada said.
