ZAMFARA LAWMAKERS VOTE FOR DEPUTY GOVERNOR’S IMPEACHMENT
Eighteen out of 22 members of Zamfara assembly have voted for the impeachment of the state Deputy Governor, Barrister Mahadi Aliyu Gusau.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Director General Press Affairs and Public Relations to the house, Mustafa Jafaru Kaura.
Kaura said 18 out of the 22 members of the house voted for the Dep Gov’s impeachment.
“This followed a motion at the house plenary on Thursday moved by the state deputy speaker of the house and chairman house committee on Public Accounts, Musa Bawa Musa Yankuzo and seconded by Yusuf Alhassan Kanoma

“The Speaker Nasiru Mu’azu Magarya who presided the plenary, directed the Clerk of the house, Shehu Saidu Anka to effect voting for each and every member of the house that attended the plenary as required by the law.
“18 out of 22 members of the house voted in support for the impeachment of the Dep. Gov. from office”, he said.
“The Speaker announced the assembly’s resolution requesting the state Chief Judge Justice Kulu Aliyu to immediately constitute a panel to investigate all the allegations leveled against the Dep. Gov. as contained in the provision of section 188 (5) of the constitution of the federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended), Jafaru-Kaura added.
