Zamfara: Yarima must apologize before he revalidate his membership with APC—Danyaya

Malam Haliru Danyaya, The All Progressive Congress (APC) Chairman of Rumfar Asibiti polling unit in Bakura town, the polling unit of the former Governor of the state, Sen. Ahmad Yarima has said that the former Governor would not be allowed to revalidate his membership with the party by the party until he apologized to party leaders from his constituency.

Danyaya who disclosed this while speaking to newsmen in Gusau on Monday said, Sen. Yarima was accused for working closely with the ruling People’s Democratic Party to sabortage the successes and unity of the APC in the state.

“The recently concluded Bye-election for Bakura constituency was a clear evidence that the Senator connived with the PDP to sabotage the successes of the APC.

“Based on that, the party stakeholders in Bakura resolved that the Senator has to apologize for his offences to the party leaders in his constituency before he will be revalidated”, Danyaya said.

He called on the national leadership of the party to disregard the allegations made by Yarima that he was denied to be revalidated by the party leadership in the state.

He alleged that Senator Yarima evidently advanced the sum of N500,000 and dozens of wrappers to PDP agents at his polling unit just to make sure that APC lost the bye election.

He also accused Senator Yarima of creating factional leadership of the APC just to make sure that APC remains divided as a way of losing the bye election.

He said since the 2019 election, Senator Yarima has de-contacted himself with all the stakeholders from his polling units as he neither calls nor participates in any activity of the party.

He said up to this moment, Senator Yarima has not contacted anybody from the leadership of the party in Bakura to inform them of his plan to come for the membership revalidation exercise noting that anytime he so wished and his membership card was made ready he will be registered.

He described the rally conducted by Senator Yariman Bakura on Saturday as demeaning to the political development within the party since membership revalidation exercise does not require political rally.

He said his action at Bakura on Saturday was a clear demonstration of the fact that PDP is all out to use the former Senator to destroy the APC in Bakura.

He assured that once Yarima contacts them and agrees to come back home and reconcile with other members of his party, his membership card will be revalidated.

But Yarima while speaking to newsmen reiterated his membership with the APC and called for calm among his supporters over the development.

The former Governor said that said he is in the state to revalidate his membership with the APC.

“I have been waiting for the registration team to call him for the exercise.

“I contacted President Muhammad Buhari and National Caretaker Committee of the party over the development, they promised to send the delegation to revalidate me”, Yarima explained.

The Registration/Revalidation exercise entered the third day but Sen. Yarima is still yet revalidate his membership with the party.
