2027: Coordinators, focal persons endorse Buni, Wali

The Forum of Yobe Focal Persons and Project Coordinators, has endorsed Alhaji Baba Malam Wali, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship aspirant in Yobe, as its preferred candidate in the 2027 general elections.

The forum also threw its weight behind Gov. Mai Mala Buni, who aspires for the Yobe East Senatorial seat under the APC.

Speaking at the occasion in Damaturu on Friday, the Forum’s Chairman, Muhammad Umar, said the endorsement was a demonstration of unity, continuity, political stability, and strategic consolidation within the ruling party.

He said it was also based on competence, trust, experience, and the need to sustain the developmental achievements recorded under the administration of Buni.

“ Yobe State currently requires leadership anchored on continuity, institutional stability, and strategic governance coordination.

“ Wali possesses the experience, maturity and deep understanding of governance necessary to consolidate ongoing reforms and development initiatives.

“ This is not merely about supporting an individual but about protecting the future of Yobe State and consolidating the enduring legacies of former Governor Ibrahim Gaidam and Governor Mai Mala Buni,” Umar said.

The chairman said the forum deemed Buni fit for the position, having performed well in transformational leadership, infrastructure development, institutional reforms, commitment to peace and inclusive governance across the state.

In his remarks, the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Mohammed Goje, described the endorsement as a demonstration of unity, continuity and trusted leadership within the APC family in Yobe.

He commended the organisers for their commitment to strengthening party cohesion and sustaining the developmental trajectory of the state under the Buni-led administration.

Goje expressed appreciation to the governor for his visionary leadership and commitment to the transformation of the state, noting that the administration had continued to record significant progress across critical sectors of governance and development.

He called on party faithful, political stakeholders, women, and youth groups to remain united and continue supporting the vision of stability, continuity, and inclusive development in the state.

Prominent APC stakeholders, Alhaji Baba Shehu and Dauda Gombe, emphasised the importance of unity, solidarity, and collective political responsibility ahead of the 2027 elections.

They urged party members and supporters to remain focused on preserving the peace, stability, and developmental progress achieved under the APC administration, while strengthening internal cohesion within the party.
