Senate President extols achievements of Bagudu,says Kebbi very strong state

Senate President, Dr Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan on Thursday extolled the sterling formidable achievements of the Kebbi State Governor, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu . 


The Senate President has also declared that Kebbi State is a very strong state in Nigeria that is indispensable. 
Lawan, who spoke during a Courtesy call on Gov. Bagudu at Government House,  Birnin Kebbi said ”  Kebbi State boasts of the Chairman of the APC Governors’ Forum and the Senate Leader.


” With these powerful elements and many other prominent sons and daughters of the state, what more can one talk of as far as APC is concerned .

” This is the base of APC and we will continue to be solidly united , together with the solid team of Senators from the state.


” With this, we will continue to render unblemished service to the people of the state and the entire country ‘.
Lawan added that , all Nigerians were now looking to Kebbi for guidance and direction, as far as the political and democratic equilibrium is concerned.


While acknowledging the myriad of developmental strides of Gov. Bagudu, Lawan described Kebbi as the ” heart of APC.”


” You have been a very good Chairman of Progressive Governor’s Forum 


He promised that the extant unity of the ninth Senate and the National Assembly in general, with the Executive and other arms of government was a good omen for the nation.


According to him, this is why many developmental projects were dotting the entire country, with 100 percent capital  budget performance recorded in 2020, for the first time in the history of Nigeria.


The Senate President stressed the need for leaders to work towards uniting the country and served as agents of unity.
He said that his visit to the state was a home coming , even as he lauded Bagudu and the Emir of Argungu for bestowing him with the revered traditional tittle of “‘Ganuwan Kabbi .”


” We have come for one major thing, the emir of Argungu will be celebrating his 25th anniversary on Friday (tomorrow) and we are here to be part and parcel of the celebration “, he averred.


Lawan also condoled the government and people of the state on the demise of an elder statesman, Alhaji Garba Dandiga, the former Commissioner for Agriculture who passed away this Tuesday .


The Senate President prayed the Almighty Allah to grant him Aljannat firdaus and give his family, government and the people of the state the formidable fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.


Gov. Bagudu had earlier while welcoming Lawan said the people of the state were very proud of their association with and other members of NASS from the state.

Bagudu also extolled the glaring achievements of the Senate President,  as well as the various legislations that had spiraled developments in Kebbi and Nigeria .He cited the establishment of the Federal University of Agriculture, Zuru and the Federal College of Agriculture,  Illo, which is in the pipeline.


The Chairman of the APC Governors’ Forum  added that, the people of the state had specifically benefited from the various legislations and interventions .


Bagudu restated that Kebbi State remains wholly APC, in spite of some occasional hiccups normal with democracy and they were always surmounted.


The Kebbi Governor also lauded President Muhammadu Buhari and the National Assembly for spearheading the management of a very lean economy , ” honestly and transparently.


” That is why various projects , including constituency projects were springing up across the country in an unimaginable manner.”


Bagudu congratulated the Senate President for the traditional title of ‘Ganuwan Kabi’ conferred to him by Emir of Argungu .
