SCHOLARSHIP: 120 ZAMFARA INDEGENES DEPART TO TOGO VARSITY
A total of 120 Zamfara indigenes sponsored by a philanthropist, Dauda Lawal-Dare, to undergo degree and masters programmes at Iheris University in Lome, Togo, have departed the country.
Addressing the beneficiaries in Gusau on Sunday before their departure, Engr Ahmad Garba Yandi, Coordinator of the programme, charged them to be law-abiding and stay focused on their respective programmes.
Yandi urged the students to use the opportunity to be beneficial to not just themselves, but to their parents, families and the society at large.
The coordinator also commended members of his committee for their resilience, hard work and contribution, for the success of the programme.
“On behalf of Alhaji Dauda Lawal, I am calling on you to be good ambassadors to Zamfara and Nigeria in general.
“All your tuition and accomodation fees have been paid by the philanthropist, therefore you should take you programmes seriously,”Garba Yandi admonished.

Also speaking, Alhaji Ibrahim Danmaliki, a former Commissioner of Education in the state, said the gesture was is in line with the educational needs of the state.
Danmaliki therefore charged the students to ensure that they come out with good grades.
The only female among the 120 beneficiaries, Amina Kabir, would be undertaking Computer Science programme.
