Police apprehend 2 suspected drug dealers with tramadol worth N3.5m in Katsina
The Police Command Katsina State has apprehended two suspected drug dealers with tramadol tablets worth N3.5 million in Safana Local Government Area of the state.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Abubakar Aliyu, disclosed this to newsmen on Thursday in Katsina.
He said that based on credible intelligence, on March 20, at 4 p.m, operatives of the command traced and apprehended one Murtala Salisu, aged 27, of Bare-bari village in Safana LGA with 2,084 sachets of suspected tramadol tablets.
During interrogation, the PPRO said the suspect confessed to having gotten the illicit drugs from one Rabe, from Nassarawa State.

According to the PPRO, the suspect further mentioned one Tanimu Abubakar of Jibia LGA, Katsina State, as his accomplice, who was also apprehended.
The suspects, he said, had confessed to the commission of the offence, as investigation was ongoing.
The PPRO said that the Commissioner of Police, Mr Bello Shehu, reaffirmed the commitment of the command towards fighting substance abuse, illicit drugs trafficking and other drug-related offences.
He further urged the public to continue supporting the command with valuable and timely information to aid in the fight against all forms of crimes and criminality in the state.
