Governor Inuwa Yahaya Attends Former Bauchi Governor’s Turbaning Ceremony
Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, CON, joined a distinguished gathering today at the Emir of Bauchi’s Palace to witness the formal turbaning of former Bauchi State Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar (SAN) as Makama Babba. The ceremony was also marked by the wedding fatiha of the celebrant’s daughter, Khadija Abdullahi Abubakar, to Abubakar Sadiq Muhammad Wanka.

The event drew together prominent figures from across the region, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, former Bauchi Governor Ahmed Adamu Mu’azu, Yobe State Deputy Governor Idi Barde Gubana, Members of the National Assembly, Ministers, and other notable personalities.
The title of Makama Babba was conferred on M.A. Abubakar several years ago, but the traditional rites and formal turbaning ceremony were finally held today under the auspices of His Royal Highness, Dr. Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu.

The wedding fatiha was a significant highlight of the ceremony. Vice President Kashim Shettima served as Waliy (guardian) for the bride, while Alhaji Muhammad Wanka, father of the groom, acted as his son’s Wakil (representative). A dowry of three hundred thousand naira (N300,000) was paid.

Prior to the ceremony, Governor Inuwa Yahaya joined his Bauchi State counterpart, Sen. Bala Mohammed, for the Jumu’at prayers at the Government House Mosque. Governor Inuwa was accompanied by key government officials and associates, including Architect Yunusa Yakubu, Hon. Ismaila Muazu Hassan, Gombe State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Zubair Muhammad Umar, and Engr Aliyu Mohammed.
