Nasarawa State Governor Breaks Ground on World’s First Specialized University of Public Relations and Leadership
Nasarawa State Governor, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, officially launched the construction of the University of Public Relations and Leadership (UPRL) in Gudi, Nasarawa State, on Friday, December 26th, 2025, marking a significant milestone with the groundbreaking ceremony.
This pioneering institution is set to be the world’s first specialized university dedicated to the fields of public relations and leadership.
The ambitious project is a collaborative effort between the Nasarawa State government, Global Alliance, and the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by a distinguished gathering, including Professor Emmanuel Dandaura, fnipr, who chairs the Project Implementation Committee, and Dr. Ike Neliaku, President and Chairman of Council of the NIPR.
Traditional rulers, members of the State Executive Council, and other prominent personalities were also present to witness the commencement of this landmark development.
The establishment of the UPRL is expected to significantly enhance the study and practice of public relations and leadership, not only within Nigeria but on a global scale.
