NDLEA and DSS Join Forces to Combat Drug Abuse in Anambra
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and the Department of State Services (DSS) in Anambra State have forged a strategic partnership to intensify the fight against drug abuse within the state.
This collaboration will see the two agencies engaging in intelligence sharing to enhance their joint efforts in ensuring the safety and security of lives and property across Anambra.
The agreement was solidified during a courtesy visit by the new Director of DSS in Anambra, Mr. Chuks Anukposi, to the NDLEA Commander, Mr. Charles Onubogu, in Awka. Mr. Anukposi emphasized that building strong working relationships with stakeholders is vital for addressing the escalating security challenges in the state.

He pointed out the significant link between drug abuse, illicit drug trafficking, and other criminal activities such as banditry, armed robbery, and kidnapping, underscoring that no single agency can tackle these issues in isolation.
Commander Onubogu commended Mr. Anukposi’s visit and reiterated the NDLEA’s unwavering commitment to collaborating with the DSS and other security agencies.
He acknowledged the crucial role the DSS plays in providing actionable intelligence, which has been instrumental in supporting NDLEA’s operations and combating drug-related crimes.
Both agencies expressed optimism that this strengthened partnership will yield significant results, contributing to a safer and more secure society in Anambra.
