FUG VC expresses displeasure over transfer of 2 female professors to Uni of Abuja

Prof. Mu’azu Abubakar Gusau, Vice Chancellor, Federal University Gusau, has expressed displeasure over the transfer of two female professors who had transferred their services to the University of Abuja.

Gusau, who could not hold back tears publicly at a send-forth party organised for the two female lecturers by the Faculty of Education of the institution, Professors, Bilkisu Shinkafi and Sa’adatu Shinkafi, said they would be greatly missed.

He described the movement of these professors from the university as painful, considering their contributions in building the institution.

“Today, I am speaking out of my mood, I am not happy to attend this occasion because there is too much pain in me.
“It is painful to allow this to happened, but such is part of life.

“I pray to Almighty Allah to continue to guide you and protect you as you embark on a new phase, in your new places of assignments and as well reward you for your contributions in building the institutions”, the VC added.

Ealier, the Chairman Organising Committee of the occasion, Dr Lawal Sa’ad also prayed for a fruitful and rewarding work experience for the two lecturers at their new places of assignment.

Also speaking, the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Kabiru Abdullahi stated that as a scientists, the history of his association with the two professors could be traced back to 1995 in the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto.

Abdullahi stated that it was a bitter experience, for the faculty in particular and the university in general, to have two female professors of that calibre to leave the services of of the universityniversity at the same time.

One of the celebrants, Prof.Sa’adatu Aliyu Shinkafi expressed her happiness for the honoured her by the faculty of science and Management of the university.

Shinkafi who was the Head of Microbiology Department of the university thanked Almighty God for making the programme a success.

She expressed her happiness for the honoured her by the faculty of science and the University management in general.

“My feeling today is a mixed of happiness and sadness, as we are leaving the services of the University leaving behind our very good friends.

“I thank the Management of the University and my Faculty for this honour and for always being strong support to us”, Prof. Sa’adatu Shinkafi said.

Also speaking, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academic, Prof. Bilkisu Aminu Shinkafi who also the Former Dean, Faculty of Science, said her leaving was just an extension of their stay in the FUG as wherever they found themselves, they would be good ambassadors of the University.

Prof.Balkisu Shinkafi who the also a celebrants expressed her appreciation and happiness that their stay and sacrifices for the University were appreciated by all and sundry.

While highlighting some of her contributions to the University, Prof. Bilkisu stated that she was happy to have chaired the Maiden Convocation Ceremony of the University and rose up to level of DVC academic.
