APC Congress:  Kana-Zuru emerges Kebbi Chairman

 Alhaji Abubakar Kana-Zuru, has emerged the Kebbi Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) following Saturday’s State Congress.
Kana-Zuru’s emergence was through affirmation at a programme held at the Haliru Audu stadium in Birnin Kebbi. 

The Chairman, APC congress Election Committee for Kebbi, Mr Osita Okechukwu, announced that Kana-Zuru had been affirmed.

According to Okechukwu, the congress election committee chairman, all the 36 positions were contested unopposed.

Kana-Zuru was the Caretaker Committee Chairman of the party in Kebbi. 

Earlier, Sen. Bala Ibn Na’Allah, who is the Chairman state Main Committee of the party, also commended the leaders of the party for their foresight and untiring efforts in making sure the minor disagreement between some aggrieved members was resolved.

Na’Allah expressed his consent and trust with the elected leaders of the party, saying that the election demonstrated the equity and fairness of the party in the state.
He thanked the party for finding him worthy of shouldering the responsibility of chairing the election’s main committee of the party in the state.


Na’Allah also prayed to Almighty Allah to restore peace and tranquility in the country. 
In his acceptance speech, Kana-Zuru assured the members of the party of his commitment to serve the party diligently and selflessly devoid of disloyalty and disobedience of the constitution of the party.


“I am calling on the elected executive officers of the party to make sure that the offices of the party at wards’ level are opened , and all the activities of the party should kick-start from the wards according to the constitution of the party,” he said.


The chairman thanked the members of the party for entrusting him with the mandate to lead the party to greater heights in the forthcoming elections in the country. 


Also speaking, the Minister of Justice and Attorney- General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami,SAN, commended Gov. Atiku Bagudu for sustaining peace and development in the state in spite of the security challenges in the country .
“The congress today, which is orderly and peaceful, has demonstrated what peace and tranquility is and the joy of peace which we are lacking in some states.


“All these are made possible because of the untiring efforts of Bagudu, and we thank him for that,” he said. 
In his remarks, Gov. Bagudu, apologised to members who were wronged in one way or the other, saying that the electoral processes were without rancor and bad feelings. 


“It is not my intention to hurt or offend other members of the party, and it is not my intention to send anyone away of the party we had suffered so much to build and sustain,” he said.


The governor congratulated the elected officials and urged them to redouble their efforts in showing respect to members of the party at all levels.
