Banditry: Police confirms killing of 13 persons, 3 security agents in Kebbi
The Kebbi State Police Command, has confirmed killing of 13 civilians, one police officer and two soldiers by suspected bandits who attacked Dankade village in Danko/Wsaagu Local Government of the State.
Confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the command, DSP Nafi’u Abubakar, who confirmed the attack to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi on Monday said the incident happened on Friday around 3:pm.
He said,” The incident happened on Friday ariund 3: pm as the bandits coming from Zamfara State invaded the Dankade village and killed 13 civilians, one police officer and two soldiers.
“On hearing the invasion, the police patrol team were mobilize to the village and engaged them in gun duel as a result of gun duel, we lost one of our police officers, two Army Personnel.

“As for the civilians, we 13 civilians killed and we have also eliminated unknown number of bandits in the duel.”
According to him, some houses were also set ablaze.
Abubakar said that the investigation is still ongoing as the command dispatched some security agents to tail them from where they had come.
The PRO also called on the general public to assist the command with the relevant information in order to secure the state from banditry attacks.
