Public school teachers and students across the 17 local government areas of Yobe State are expressing gratitude towards the administration of Governor Mai Mala Buni and the Yobe State Universal Basic Education Board (YSUBEB) for the equitable distribution of learning materials.

According to teachers interviewed by Neptune Prime, the distribution of these materials comes as a welcome relief, addressing a long-standing need for adequate teaching aids.

Muhammad Garba, a teacher at Damboa Primary School in Potiskum local government area, expressed satisfaction at receiving a laptop and tablet from the state government, emphasizing the positive impact it will have on his teaching methodology, including research capabilities and student data assessment.

Another teacher from Central Primary School in Potiskum praised the leadership of SUBEB, particularly highlighting Mallam Isa Shettima, the Secretary and Acting Chairman of the Board, for his tireless efforts in ensuring fair and unbiased distribution of the materials.

Meanwhile, students also shared their delight upon receiving the learning kits.

Fatima Shu’aibu, a Primary five student at Damboa Primary School, expressed gratitude for receiving school bags, textbooks, exercise books, pens, and other essential materials, thanking the Yobe state government for their provision.

In Damaturu, several students echoed similar sentiments, expressing immense happiness and urging the government to continue supporting them in their educational endeavors.

It could be recalled that the distribution of the materials forms part of the Yobe State government’s comprehensive strategy to revitalize basic and secondary education, with over a billion naira worth of teaching and learning materials procured and distributed to primary and junior secondary schools across the state.

Supported by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), this initiative stressed the government’s commitment to promoting quality education in line with policy directives set forth by Governor Mai Mala Buni.

Alhaji Isa Shettima, the acting chairman of SUBEB, reiterated that the procurement of instructional materials aligns with the agency’s mission to enhance teaching and learning standards, ensuring a conducive learning environment for all students in Yobe State.
